Black O’ The Green
This is the autobiography of Jimmy Black, my father’s cousin, which I re-published for him under the Accolade Publishing imprint, when he wanted to update the first edition several years ago. It’s an account of farming history in the Kilmacolm area of Renfrewshire. Jimmy farmed the land of East Green Farm most of his long life. I think he was 98 when he died, so his book is a valuable record of how farming in the West of Scotland developed over his lifetime. There are also many humorous stories about people and events in which ‘cousin Jimmy’ (as we called him) played a leading role! Excerpts and photos to follow.
