A Message of Love

A Message of Love

Love is probably one of the most misunderstood words in the English language and it seems to be in ever decreasing supply these days. The Creator of our beautiful world is the source of true love. We see the evidence of His love and care all around us. Tragically, something happened which caused great damage to the perfection of God’s creation. We read about that in the Genesis, the first book in the Bible. The great enemy and opposer of God came in and by deception, caused Man, God’s finest creation, to defy His authority and go against His express instructions. God calls disobedience ‘sin’. Today we are reaping the consequences of Adam’s sin and Satan the deceiver is still at work, blinding the minds of men and women to the love and goodness of God, our Creator.

In spite of all this the Bible says:

‘but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.’ (Romans 5:8)

God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross and bear the punishment for sin on our behalf.

He left the splendour of heaven
Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha
There to lay down His life for me

And if that isn’t love
Then the ocean is dry
There’s no stars in the sky
And the little sparrows can’t fly …

Do you agree?
