Jo’s Pen Name: ‘Handlejug Publishing’

Jo also publishes educational workbooks and other useful publications under the pen name ‘Handlejug Publishing.’ (In case you aren’t familiar with West of Scotland slang, the name is a play on the colloquial phrase, ‘I’ve got a handle tae my jug’ – which, roughly translated, means ‘I do actually have a name!’

Jo uses his pen name for marketing purposes, to keep different publications within their own niche.

Note:

The above phrase would normally be used as a rejoinder, as when one West of Scotland inhabitant addresses another thus:

‘Hey you’ – or
‘Hoi! – You! C’mere!’

In which case, the rejoinder would be:

‘Excuse me my good man (or woman),
I have a handle to my jug’.
